Dedication and Thanksgiving, November 1, 2009

When Fr. Peter came to our parish some twenty years ago, he had a vision for our parish. That vision was to make our make our church accessible for all to come and worship. Today that vision has become a reality and we celebrate Fr. Peter's commitment to this parish as well as the parishioners commitment. Thanks to all who have contributed because this dream has became a reality. Not only did we celebrate all who have contributed with pledges but we also celebrated the laborers on this project who contributed with their time and talent. We also celebrated those individuals who are now able to come to church without any limitations.

The Bishop was unable to attend our dedication due to a previous engagement but he came in October and blessed the elevator.

Fr. Peter recognizes all the individuals involved in the "Reaching New Heights" project. He also expressed his gratitude to all who have contributed. It was a very proud and emotional day for him as he was able to look into the crowd and could see those who will benefit from the elevator.

The children's choir serenaded us with "The Elevator Song".

Upon completion of the blessing, Fr. Peter, Deacon Bill proceeded down the elevator to the church hall for the blessing of the kitchen and church hall.

After the ceremony, all in attendence shared in lovely treats that were made from our parishioners. Thank you to all who contributed a dessert. We all enjoyed them!!
