Friday, June 5th

These are pictures of the most important part of the whole project, the elevator control room. Most of us will never see behind these walls so here you go. There is no equipment in there yet but stay tuned because I can assure you that the room will be filled soon.

Saturday, May 30th

Here are some new pictures of cleaning out of the top of the elevator and putting in duct work for venting the shaft.

Although it has been a while since the last blog post, I can assure you that there continues to be a lot of work being done behind the scenes. The steering committee continues to meet and the construction continues. George Haddad and I spoke at the Masses the weekend of May 16th & 17th to give an update of our progress. The construction continues with work on the handicapped unisex bathroom and the power room for the elevator. As soon as pictures are available they will be posted.

I am happy to report that as of today, our pledge total is $343,000. This is a great accomplishment but we are still short of reaching our goal of $360,00. If you have not made your pledge it is not too late. We are still accepting pledges. Any pledge amount will be greatly appreciated.

Sunday, April 19th

If you were at the Masses on Easter Sunday you saw the beautiful display of pavers in the vestibule. If you weren’t there, below is a picture of that display. The pavers are part of our “Reaching New Heights” project in that they will be given to donors in appreciation for their pledge.

The paver will be given to a donor for a minimum of $100 pledge. Only one paver will be given. Additional pavers will be available for sale at a later date. The price and timing is not yet available. Please stay tuned to the website or blog for information. In appreciation for a pledge of $1000 or more, the donor will receive a paver and a leaf on our donor tree. Only one leaf will be given. The tree will be displayed in the vestibule that can be visible upon exiting the elevator or walking in the front door.

Because the timeline for completion of pledges is three years, many of the details in regards to personalization of both the pavers and leaves will come at a later time. These gifts of appreciation will be granted once a donor’s pledge has been fulfilled.

Friday, April 3rd- The Apprentice

Friday was a very exciting day at St. Charles. Jeff Cantarella had a VIP apprentice. As you can see from the pictures, that special guest was Fr. Peter. They were laying the last of the blocks for the elevator shaft and the next step is for the shaft to be capped. Fr. Peter looks like he had a great time.

Thursday, April 2nd

We continue to make great progress. We are making our way up to the choir loft. Enjoy these great behind the scenes pictures.
Looking up to the top, the platforms where parts of the organ were moved to.
Looking out to the front of the church (See EXIT sign). This is how high the shaft is so far. You can also see where the floor has been cut through the choir loft.

The pictures above and below are looking down the elevator shaft.
